Created as part of our 2021 Virtual Workshop Roadshow, “Unpacking Online Gender-Based Violence,” this zine aims to help young people better understand online gender-based violence, its impact, and where to seek support.
The zine follows the story of Sara, a 15-year-old student whose private photos are shared online without her consent. Together with her best friend Abby, Sara navigates the emotional and social challenges that often come with these experiences—especially in environments where victims are unfairly blamed.
Alongside the story, the zine includes a personal essay about online harassment, a poem titled “Aku Juga”, creative visual pieces, and a curated list of helplines and organisations that offer support.
Written in Bahasa Malaysia, this zine is designed to be accessible and relatable to students across different backgrounds in Malaysia. It is part of our effort to create inclusive resources that raise awareness and support young people facing online harm.
We hope this zine resonates with students who may be experiencing similar situations and empowers them to seek support and feel safer in digital spaces.
